Trade secrets: ‘No negative side effects on journalists and whistleblowers’, says Parliament spokesperson

On Thursday 28 January, the JURI Committee members will cast their confirmation votes on new rules to help businesses obtain legal redress against the theft or misuse of their trade secrets. However, this time, as addressed by Marjory van den Broeke, European Parliament spokesperson, the new piece of legislation will take into account journalists and whistleblowers, ensuring that they are genuinely protected against false accusations of theft, for example.
