EU Tweets of the Week: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly – 5 February 2016

Jennifer Baker presents EU Tweets of the Week, looking at the good, the bad and the ugly in the European Union Twittersphere this week:

  • Most debated: Brexit was this week’s hot potato! Donald Tusk released a draft deal that intends to keep Britain in the EU. So, will it stay or will it not, that is the question.
  • The Good: MEPs urged the Commission to table a new strategy for gender equality and women’s rights.
  • The Bad: Bye bye Safe Harbor, welcome Privacy Shield. Too much ado about nothing? Jargon limbo? One thing is sure the new proposal clearly is not to everybody’s liking.
  • The Ugly: Last Friday, Martin Selmayr bowed down to Cameron, as he did to Merkel last year… but to whom did he bowed down the most? Berlaymonster did the maths for us.
