– Economic impact of Russia’s ban on European Union food imports:
- Actions taken by the EU to limit the effects of the ban: aid worth €125 million for the fruit and vegetable sector; aid for dairy producers to help pay storage costs worth between €10 and €25 million; €120 million worth of support for food promotion schemes available from 2015
- Possible future measures to help sectors hit by the Russian ban: at the extraordinary Agriculture and Fisheries Council in Brussels on September 5, Member States discussed plans for a further compensation package targeted specifically at farmers and food operators worst hit by the restrictions
