Visa Europe – Principles of intelligent payments regulation

visa_logoOn 24 July 2013, the European Commission adopted a legislative package in the field of the EU payments framework. This package contains proposals to revise the Payments Services Directive (PSD2) and a Regulation on Interchange Fees for card-based transactions (IFR). Visa Europe supports efforts to develop an integrated European payment market that fosters competition, innovation and security and brings benefits to all stakeholders, especially consumers. In an effort to help bolster their effectiveness and minimise any adverse impacts on stakeholders, Visa Europe’s Regulatory Affairs Director, Marc Temmerman reviews the proposals according to Visa Europe’s principles of intelligent payments regulation which he outlines in this video.
