Tax Transparency Package: Commission will use LuxLeaks to push for harmonisation, ECR Group fears

James Holtum, spokesperson for the ECR Group, joins Jennifer Baker to discuss the European Commission’s proposals for tax transparency in the wake of the LuxLeaks revelations.

The Commission’s proposals  are “the sort of contribution the EU should be making” to tackle anti-competitive behaviour, argues Holtum. However, the ECR Group fears that the Commission will use LuxLeaks as justification to push “an agenda of tax harmonisation” that could be “dangerous for the competitiveness of Europe.”
