Protective equipment: safety risks must be balanced against red tape, cautions ECR Group

Jennifer Baker is joined by James Holtum, spokesperson for the ECR Group, to discuss two draft laws on personal protective equipment that are to be voted in the Internal Market Committee this week.

Following the Commission’s decision to include “products for private use against heat, damp and water” on the list of personal protective equipment subject to regulation, MEPs of the Internal Market Committee will seek to ensure that the administrative burden of these laws is proportionate to safety risks.
