NSA scandal: ‘let us be a bit more calm and rational’, says ECR Group

The recent allegations of hacking by the United States National Security Agency (NSA) and the UK Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) have raised a broad debate in the European Union institutions on their truthfulness and their effects on EU foreign and internal relations. One of the debated agreements, in the case of the NSA scandal, is the Terrorist Finance Tracking Programme (TFTP). The spokesperson warns that any decisions, with drastic consequences, have to be taken calmly, rationally and by the appropriate authorities.
