Green Employment Initiative: new opportunities for Europe’s 26 million unemployed according to Commission

On July 1 the European Commission presented the Green Employment Initiative which is aimed at creating new jobs across the European Union and reducing a high rate of unemployment within the EU. The initiative aims at bridging skills and knowledge gaps, as well as supporting SMEs and establishing new waste targets. Furthermore, it supports the transition towards a low carbon, energy and resource efficient economy, claims the spokeswoman of the European Commission.
