EU Blending Funds, the Future of External Cooperation – Alexandre Polack, European Commission Spokesman for Development
Leading EU affairs journalist Grégoire Lory, met with Alexandre Polack, European Commission Spokesperson for Development, to discuss the financing of EU External Cooperation in the future.
The European Union is the World’s largest donor of development assistance. In 2011, the EU spent 53 billion euros to support developing countries. In order to make poverty reduction strategies more efficient, the EU launched a new platform for blending private and public funds for external cooperation in December 2012.
