Diplomatic Café: 15 February Foreign Affairs Council insights

For the first time, a viEUws and B2 video programme goes behind the scene of European diplomacy. Johanna Bouquet – Journalist at B2  – is joined by Nicolas Gros-Verheyde, editor in chief of Bruxelles2, to discuss the main issues on the agenda of the Foreign Affairs Council on Monday 15 February 2016.

Ministers will examine the political and humanitarian situation in Syria. Over lunch, EU Foreign Affairs Ministers will hold an important exchange of views with the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gebran Bassil who is asking the EU to offer his country the same level of support as the one granted to Turkey to deal with the massive influx of migrants.

The Council will also discuss the situation in Belarus and how to improve the relationship with this country which has acted as a “honest broker” in the Russia-Ukraine issue.
